Roger Federer vs Rafael Nadal - ATP World Tour Finals London 2011

Federer Tsonga Re-match!!!!!!!

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga leaned to his left, dug out a deft backhand half volley winner that dripped  over the net like a splotch of yellow paint dabbing a blue canvas. That eye-popping shot gave Tsonga match point and prompted his father, Didier, to spring from his seat and rock side-to-side with such fervor he nearly shook the scarf off his neck in celebration.
Tsonga combined some ballistic serving with brush-stroke brilliant shot making to sweep Tomas Berdych, 6-3, 7-5, and reach the ATP World Tour Finals title match for the first time.
Delivering the dazzle before a festive Saturday night London crowd, Tsonga set up a Sunday showdown with five-time champion Roger Federer, a 7-5, 6-3 victor over David Ferrer. It marks the third straight Sunday Federer will face Tsonga with the Swiss prevailing in the Paris Masters final two weeks ago before beating the Frenchman 6-2, 2-6, 6-4, in last Sunday's round-robin match.
Nearly untouchable on first serve today, Tsonga won 27 of 30 points played on his first delivery, swatted seven aces and surrendered serve just once in the 93-minute semifinal.
Group A winner Berdych tried to target the Tsonga backhand and earned double break point in the fifth game.  Tsonga slid a serve into the corner to save the first, erased the second with a forcing forehand and used successive errors from Berdych to hold for 3-2.

The Swiss Maestro Roger Federer did not disappoint his home fans as he earned a comprehensive 6-1 6-3 victory over the Japanese No. 1 Nishikori to defend his title here in Basel. With this victory Federer took his titles tally to 68 and claimed his fifth title here in Basel. Nishikori tried to make a comeback in the second-set, but just could not come with something special at the crucial junctures and lost this battle in straight sets.

Roger Federer 2011 US Open Kit x Nike: Lunar Vapor 8 Tour

U S Open 2011 Men’s Final Nadal V Fish

We are back at flushing meadow hard court and hard core tennis this means a lot to every player on tour and every tennis fan. Here it get’s personal and dirty that`s how we american fans likes our sports .
Ok let’s take a look at this year men’s drew and see how we get to Nadal Fish final.
Djockovic draw the only danger is Berdych & Monfils but giving the edge to Monfils only because of Berdych shoulder injeury and the same to Djockovic sorry not enough time to recover between Cinci, and New York.
Federer have it tough this year don’t think he will make a deep run he has Fish, Tsonga, Verdasco and Harrison so my pick is Fish out of this group he is playing great and he is healthy.
Del Potro and Murray they have it made this year but Murray wants to win a slam more and he has the game to back it up against Del Potro so my money on Murray.
Nadal only faces a task against Roddick or Ferrer and odds are Nadal will make it through at the end of the day.
Now you have Fish & Monfils and hard court home advantage I have to give Fish the edge here.
Nadal & Murray again my money on Nadal for the obvious reason mental toughness .
Here we are at the final Nadal V Fish the two met seven times before with Fish only taking one win but very meaningful win in Cincinnati 6-3 6-4 . The last time they met here in New York Nadal won in four sets and Fish won the first set . Fish knows it could be done and he may not have that many chances at a grand slam final. It will come down to how wants it more .

New York is gearing up for the start of the 2011

New York is gearing up for the start of the 2011 U.S. Open, when tennis fans flock day and night to Flushing to watch the world’s best players face off for glory. The focus is, of course, on the game, but fashion has always taken an interest in the sport too—like a certain editor who’s often spotted fronting Roger Federer’s cheering section. Style and sport meet in the on-court uniforms, and while tennis whites are the classic, there may not be much white in evidence this year. Nike’s athletes, at least, will be in roaring Technicolor. The label is dressing some of the game’s best for their games—including Federer and Rafael Nadal on the men’s field, and Li Na, Maria Sharapova, Serena Williams, and Victoria Azarenka on the women’s—and they’ll be kitted out in brights, from deep reds and pinks for Federer, Williams, and Li to deep ocean blues for Azarenka and Nadal. (The latter—the defending Open champ—gets patterns inspired by the elements, too, with a rainy-looking geometric print.) “This season we really wanted to amplify color,” Nike Tennis’ creative director, Janice Lucena, said. And while fashion designers and athletic designers don’t always see eye to eye, in this she’s right in line with the designers, like Tomas Maier at Bottega Veneta, Nicolas Ghesquière at Balenciaga, Raf Simons at Jil Sander, and Giambattista Valli, who showed flashes of ultra-saturated shades on their Fall runways.

Novak Djokovic wins Rogers Cup 2011

Novak Djokovic won his ninth title of 2011 with a hard-fought win over the American Mardy Fish in the final of the Rogers Cup in Montreal.
The 24-year-old Serbian, who has won 53 of the 54 matches he has played this year, beat Fish 6-2, 3-6, 6-4.
He broke Fish's serve in the fifth game of the deciding set and held on to that advantage to the end.
With this success Djokovic, the world No1, has become the first player to win five ATP Masters events – tournaments at the level just below the four majors – in the same season.

Comeback queen Serena Williams won her first tournament in more than a year when she overpowered third seed Marion Bartoli of France 7-5 6-1 in the Stanford Classic final Sunday.
American Williams came from 2-4 down in the opening set and then dominated the rest of the match with booming serves and hard groundstrokes to claim her first title since Wimbledon last year.

Nadal, Djokovic and Murray reached the semis, Tsonga Stuns Federer

Six-time champion Federer recorded his first loss when leading two sets to love. His record when winning the first two sets at Slams now stands at 178-1.
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France produced a stunning serving display in the last three sets of his quarterfinal with Federer to advance to his first Wimbledon semi.
Rafael Nadal erased any doubts about his form after a foot injury scare in his last match against Juan Martin del Potro. The defending champion won in four sets.
Bernard Tomic, just 18, hit more winners than the world No. 2 in their quarterfinal match. With the run, the Australian's ranking is expected to jump from No. 158 to somewhere in the 70s.

Fish The Last Yankee Standing Can He Fry Nadal ?

The short answer is yes he can but he need to play as if he made it to the final . If he mange to pull the biggest upset in his carrier the championship final would be easier task for him. But before we get their he need to be aggressive from the locker room not the warm up or the first point.
Fish need to take his chances when he get`s them and Nadal wont give him too many and he need to serve like he did against Berdych . I know it`s easier said than done but that`s why we play the sport.
The two have met only 5 times with Nadal winning all 5 the last was US open 2008 where Fish won the first set and Nadal won in 4 sets . In a grand slam Rafa is 125 - 1 when winning the first set.
On the other side Federer has his hands full with a match against Tsonga . The Frenchmen is playing lights out tennis but at the end I would favor Federer in 4 sets.
Dojokovic has a hitting session with Tomic . the two never met before but sorry Tomic is no match to Dojokovic so this is in bag for Nole.
The only match that seems even and can go either way is Murray V Lopez it`s anybody guess if anyone when have the edge it`s Murray just because he wants the win more.

Federer Nalbandian Sat, @ Wimledon Center Court

Wimbledon center court today will have a great match between Federer and Nalbandian. the two met 18 times Roger won 10 . However today`s meeting will be anything but usual business for both . on one hand Federer is looking for another grand slam or at least make it to the final to stay relative and fight of the retirement question.
On the other hand nalbandian is no stranger to center court a finalest here at 2002 is looking for an upset and what`s better than upsetting six times Wimbledon champion and the best grass pro of all times. But in order to get their he has to play a perfect match and force Federer to do more .

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga Defeats Rafael Nadal @ Aegon

Tsonga had 25 aces and kept the French Open champion off-balance with his powerful baseline game and inspired net play. 6-7 (3), 6-4, 6-1 on Friday in the quarterfinals at Queen's Club.
"Probably after losing the second set, mentally I lost my concentration," Nadal said. "The negative thing is I lost. The positive thing is I have few days off and can stop a little bit mentally. I can be a little bit more relaxed, because every day I play with pressure."
After an exchange of breaks to start the second, Tsonga broke again to lead 5-4 and served out the set.
In the third, Nadal missed a critical forehand volley at the net on game point and the fifth-seeded Frenchman went on to break for 1-0. An inspired Tsonga dominated the rest of the match.

Federer Snaps Dojokvic Streak Gets Rafa Sunday

Roger Federer played an epic match today at Roland Garos semi proves to himself first and to tennis fans that he is not finished yet . 7-6 6-3 3-6 7-6 the final score
while federer had trouble converting the break points it seems like it had no effects on his plans which is to stay solid on the back hand and make Jojokvic hits one more shot every time forcing the error which worked to his benefits today . Djokovic had this monkey on his back ( winning streak ) that prevented him from playing his game beside it seemed like he struggled with movement on clay .
Can Federer win against Nadal Sunday ? Yes only for one reason he is very relax and going in the final with no expectations and you will be surprise what you can do in tennis if you are relax!!!
“Beating Novak today was maybe a good birthday gift for him because he lost his four previous matches against Novak,” Federer said of Nadal, who turned 25 on Friday. “I’m going to play against Nadal, my main rival, in another Grand Slam final. We live for these moments.”

Rafael Nadal - Roland Garros 2011 Preview

Murray downs Chela to reach semis for first time

Andy Murray did not want to spoil the party. For the first time since 2006, the four top seeds will meet in the Roland Garros semi-finals thanks to the Scotsman's impressive 7-6(2), 7-5, 6-2 victory over Juan Ignacio Chela. Murray was the last man to reach the final four after no.3 Roger Federer won on Tuesday, no.2 Novak Djokovic received a free passage when Fabio Fognini withdrew and no.1 Rafael Nadal scooted past Robin Soderling mere minutes before Murray raised his fist in triumph.
While Murray was favoured coming into the match as he had already taken Chela down twice before at Roland Garros, he knew that his task would difficult due to the tear in a tendon in his ankle suffered in the third round, restricting his movement. The upside of this injury has been his increased focused on taking the ball early, dictating play and not getting too strung out in points.

Novak Djokovic The Untouchable!!!!!!!!

Second-seeded Novak Djokovic outclassed Richard Gasquet 6-4, 6-4, 6-2 Sunday in the fourth round of the French Open to extend his winning streak to 43 matches.
It was Djokovic’s third day in a row on court at Roland Garros. He beat Juan Martin del Potro in the previous round on Saturday in a match that stretched over two days.
Djokovic is 41-0 in 2011, the second-best start to a season in the Open era, which began in 1968. He also won his last two matches of 2010, making his overall run the third-longest, behind Guillermo Vilas’ record of 46 in a row in 1977.

Federer Flying Under the Radar At Roland Garros

Federer must be very happy for a lot of reasons at the french open this year. For once the expectations is not that high of him all eyes is on the struggling number one Nadal and the red hot Jokavic how in my opinion can`t shake the monkey of his back I`m talking about the winning streak 39 -0 so far .
So as all eyes on the number one and two Mr Federer looks relax and playing great so far but that may change soon as we get deeper and the matches get more difficult and it`s not
that easy to convert those break points anymore . but for now Federer and his fans must
be enjoying the match so far .

King Who !!!? Dojokvic Beats Nadan On Dirt 7-5 6-4 Madrid 2011

In a very impressive display of talent and athletic ability . Dojokvic earned a very important match maybe the best win in his short tennis Carrier . Despite Nadal attempts to stop the backhand winners and keep pressing Dojokvic . It looked like their was always an answer coming back from the other side of the net . Dojokvic stayed mentally tough and looked like he always believed he deserve the win.
That`s exactly what player need to do to get a win from Rafa anyone how wants to win on clay should set down and watch this final at least ten times and write down what he learned after each time .
Dojokvic is playing tennis from a different planet now my god 32 straight wins !!!!!!!!

Can Federer Win In Medrid ?

The last time Federer had a victory against Nadal was here in Madrid 2009. But two years later Nadal is totally different player much more improved and 10 times more confident especially on the red dirt. On the other hand Federer has nothing to loose and everything to gain if he manage to get a win on one hand he would answer all  the talks about should he retire now better than latter ?
On the other side he gets another chance to even thing with Dojokvic in a big way wich in my mind would even means more to Federer than a win against Nadal at this point in his career .
If Roger can manage to relax and take his shots when he can he will get rewarded with a rematch with Dojokvic .

Madrid: Federer d. Soderling

Top seed Nadal raced to a comfortable 6-2 6-2 win over Michael Llodra while Federer saw off Robin Soderling 7-6 [7-2] 6-4 in the later quarter-final.
Former world number one Federer secured his only break against Soderling with a volleyed winner in the ninth game of the second set before serving out for victory in breezy conditions
He said: "The conditions were tough. I didn't know you could get so much wind inside an enclosed space."
Looking forward to Saturday's semi-final, Federer who has won only eight of 23 matches against Nadal, added: "He seems like he is playing amazing tennis right now but I'll give it my best shot and see how I get on."
The other semi-final will be contested between second seed Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray's quarter-final conqueror Thomaz Bellucci.
Djokovic overcame clay specialist David Ferrer 6-4 4-6 6-3, and in doing so extended his winning run in 2011 to 30 matches.
The Serb has now beaten the mark of 29 wins set by Czech player Ivan Lendl in 1986.
Only Bjorn Borg [33 in 1980] and John McEnroe [42 in 1984] have had longer winning runs from the start of a season.
Earlier, Bellucci became the first player through to Saturday's semi-finals with a 7-6 [7-2] 6-3 win over seventh seed Tomas Berdych.
The Brazilian, ranked 36th in the world, was in his element as he dominated on serve and did not have to face a single break point.
"The conditions on these courts are perfect for me, I like playing here," said Bellucci.

Barcelona: Nadal d. Ferrer wins barselona

This is the second tournament Nadal has won at least six times, and he'll have a chance for a third and fourth—Rome and Roland Garros—in the coming weeks. Along with Madrid, Nadal has three more opportunities on the dirt to make winners' speeches and leave us speechless.
Nadal, 24, is now unbeaten on clay in 34 matches and looks primed for a sixth French Open title in June.
Nadal won the Barcelona Open five years in a row - beating Ferrer in the 2008 and 2009 finals - before skipping the tournament in 2010 because of a knee injury.
"It's incredible to come back here to my tournament and my fans after not being able to play last year," said Nadal.
"I am very, very happy for the win and sorry for David, who is having a fantastic year and deserves a title. It's bad luck for him having to play me in three finals but it's my sixth title here and it's a huge delight."

Nadal and Ferrer Gets to Barcelona Final

BARCELONA, Spain -- Spaniards Rafael Nadal and David Ferrer will meet in the final of an ATP event for the second straight week after both were semifinal winners Saturday at the Barcelona Open.
The fourth-seeded Ferrer advanced first with a 6-3, 6-4 triumph over fellow Spaniard Nicolas Almagro and the top-seeded Nadal followed suit with a 6-3, 6-2 rout of Croatia's Ivan Dodig.
Nadal topped Ferrer last Sunday in the final of the Monte Carlo Masters. It gave Nadal his seventh straight Monte Carlo crown, and on Sunday the world No. 1 will try for his sixth Barcelona title.
Not only will the two meet for the second week in a row with a title at stake, but it will also be the pair's third meeting for the Barcelona championship. Nadal beat Ferrer for the crown in 2008 and 2009.
Nadal, who didn't play in this event last year because of injury, has won 28 straight matches on the Barcelona clay. Saturday's victory was also Nadal's 500th on the ATP Tour.

Caroline Wozniacki, of Denmark, makes a return to Yanina Wickmayer during the Family Circle Cup tennis tournament in Charleston, S.C., Friday April 8, 2011. Wozniacki defeated Wickmayer 4-6, 6-4. 6-4.
"In every match, she finds a way to get out of it and beat her opponent," Wickmayer said. "That's most important."
Wozniacki rallied from a first-set loss and 4-2 down in the final set to defeat Wickmayer 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 on Friday to move into the semifinals.
It was another tight match for Wozniacki, who needed to two tiebreakers a day earlier to beat Barbora Zahlavova Strycova. In this one, Wickmayer looked like the steadier player, winning points with deep forehands and pushing Wozniacki all over the court. Wickmayer kept the pressure on in the second set as she took a 3-1 lead against the Dane.
But as Wozniacki did against Zahlavova Strycova, she pulled herself up with a string of laser forehands and well-placed shots. Wozniacki won five of final six games to even the match.

Dojokvic Beats Nadal In A Bar Fight!!!!!!!!!!!

The top-ranked Nadal and No. 2 Novak Djokovic were deadlocked and running out of energy heading into the final-set tiebreaker as a lively crowd of 14,625 — the largest ever to watch the championship in Key Biscayne — enjoyed every minute of the compelling action. After lopsided results in the men’s semifinals and women’s final, the audience was finally getting its money’s worth.
Djokovic rallied from a set down to beat Nadal 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) in a match that lasted 3 hours 21 minutes. When it was finally over, when the Serb’s forehand cross-court winner whizzed out of Nadal’s reach on match point, he raised his arms skyward and roared, as he did when he first won this tournament in 2007. And the Djokovic fans serenaded their hero with “No-lay! No-lay!” — his Serbian nickname.
Djokovic: "I had lots of winners and I decreased the number of unforced errors coming into the second set, which was important to me. I wanted, you know, to make him play an extra shot, not give him a lot of free points, and try to get some free points out of serve, which wasn't happening that much. (Ultimately), I had to work—both of us had to work for each point in this match, especially in the third set."

Victoria Azarenka tops Maria Sharapova

Sharapova was flat and her opponent sharp. Azarenka swept nine consecutive games to take charge Saturday and won the tournament for the second time, beating Sharapova, 6-1, 6-4.
The final matched two of the most notorious grunters in tennis, and while both were noisy, Azarenka's shots had more bang. Sharapova committed 43 unforced errors, held serve only once and came up short with a late comeback bid.
"I played real well the first set," the No. 8-seeded Azarenka said. "Maria is such a great fighter, I knew she was going to fight to the end. She came up with great tennis at the end, and I had to hang in there. That's what paid off."
And who had the better shriek?
"I think mine is quieter," Azarenka said.

Sony Ericsson Open Azarenka v. Sharapova

Maria Sharapova and Victoria Azarenka are the finalists for the 2011 Sony Ericsson Open. Azarenka is into the final having defeated both Kim Clijsters and Vera Zvonareva in recent matches while Sharapova is the sole survivor of Caroline Wozniacki's half of the draw.

Sharapova and Azarenka have only met four times in the past and they look evenly matched heading into Saturday's final. Heads-up they are 2-2 against one another with Azarenka winning the last match between the two players, the final from WTA Stanford 2010.

Nadal Beats Federer Gets Dojokvic at Miami Final

In a world of competitive tennis being 29 is very old . I would say Roger Federer had more hard time at the post match news conference than losing to Rafa on the court . If you listen to the questions you would never know that Federer is 0-4 this year against Nadal and Djokovic and 22-0 against everyone else.I have no doubt that Federer will bounce back from this and may even win another grand slam .
Aside from that we will be treated to a great final at the Sony Ericsson Open at Miami.
Dojokvic is playing lights out tennis scary 25-0 this year and Rafa is hungry as ever to win and gets even.

Juan Martin Del Potro Choked Off Robin Solderling in Miami Master

Juan Martin Del Potro, the world no. 51 has choked off the top seeded player in the tournament, Robin Solderling in the third round of the 2011 Sony Ericsson Open. The top seeded player, Soderling entered the match as the fourth seeded player in the tournament, while Del Potro is currently ranked just 51st; his ranking is only low because of all the time he missed in 2010 due to injury.
Del Potro, the 51st ranked player in the world has thrashed out the world no.4 in his third round encounter with a marvelous 6-3, 6-2, as the Argentina player just took  1 hour and 16 minutes on Sunday, 27th March, 2011,  to attain a fabulous victory over the Swede player, Soderling.
Del Potro in his next round encounter will be facing the American player, Mardy Fish in the fourth round, Fish, who moved within two wins of becoming America’s top-ranked men’s player after beating Richard Gasquet 6-4, 6-3.

Wozniacki triumphs at Indian Wells

The Danish world number one recovered from the surprise loss of the second set to end a marathon baseline slugfest in two hours eight minutes at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.
Wozniacki, beaten by Serb Jelena Jankovic in last year's final here, broke the 15th-seeded Frenchwoman three times in the final set, sealing victory when her opponent sent a backhand long.
On a cool overcast day in the California desert, the Dane threw both arms skywards to celebrate her second title of the year, having also triumphed at last month's Dubai championships.
"Marion, you had an amazing tournament this week," a jubilant Wozniacki said courtside. "I am sorry I had to beat you in the final but it's not like football where there is a draw."
Bartoli, who had booked her place in the final by crushing Belgian Yanina Wickmayer 6-1 6-3 in the last four, choked back tears as she applauded the triumphant Dane.
"Sorry I am a bit in tears but I guess it is more tears of tiredness," the 26-year-old said. "Caroline, you make me cry today. I would like to congratulate her. You can be proud of yourself.
"I know your big goal is to get a grand slam and I am sure you will get it very soon."

The year of the Djoker continues

Djokovic improved to 18-0, including victories at the Australian Open and in Dubai last month. He will move into the No. 2 spot when the ATP Tour rankings are released Monday, having bumped Roger Federer down to third after he lost to Djokovic in the semifinals. Nadal will remain No. 1 with a 14-3 record.
Djokovic became just the third player to beat Nadal and Federer in the same tournament twice, having last done it at Montreal in 2007. That year, Djokovic lost to Nadal in the final here, then won in 2008.
Nadal had beaten Djokovic in all five of their previous finals meetings, and he broke him twice to win the first set.
Djokovic broke to lead 5-3 in the second set, then survived a five-deuce game on his serve to take the set, winning when Nadal's backhand went wide.
He broke an error-prone Nadal twice in the first three games of the third set to take a 4-0 lead. Djokovic served out the match at 40-love to keep Nadal without a title since October.

Serena makes plans for July return

The nine-team US league, which will stage a 36th season from July 4-24, announced on Thursday that Williams is scheduled to play in Washington on July 7 against the Boston Lobsters and when the Kastles visit Sacramento on July 9.

The reigning Wimbledon champion had said after her surgery for a blood clot that travelled from a leg into her lungs that she was hopeful of a summer return, but was unsure exactly when she might be back on the court.

The former world number one, a 13-time Grand Slam champion, would need to be ready by June 20 to defend her Wimbledon title. The women's final is set for July 2.

Williams has not played a top-level match since last year's Wimbledon final after cutting her right foot on broken glass at a restaurant last July.

Harrison beats Raonic; Roddick downs Isner @ BNP

Ryan Harrison defeated Canadian Milos Raonic 7-6 (1), 4-6, 6-4 in a pairing of wild cards. The 18-year-old American earned a matchup with Federer in the fourth round.
18-year-old Ryan Harrison, the wild card who had the pro-American crowd on its feet as he took out Canadian phenom Milos Raonic in a 2-1/2 hour 7-6(1), 4-6, 6-4 victory during the late afternoon.

“He's played a lot of matches where he's just looked at the guy that serves huge and plays big and doesn't really have much to lose right now,” Harrison said of Raonic.

“The fact that I have been beaten him a couple times [in juniors] and the fact that we're somewhat similar in age and I'm younger than him also helped me a little bit. The pair combined for 28 aces - 17 by Raonic, but Harrison's pluck in the first-round tie-break and his superior service down the stretch sent the world's No. 152 player into a showdown with none other than Roger Federer Wednesday.

Federer battled with Novak Djokovic for top honors in the "blink and you missed it" match of the day. Federer needed just 58 minutes to rush Juan Ignacio Chela, 6-0, 6-2, breaking his opponent five times and seldom missing on first serves.

Federer and Sampras slugging it out

Arriving early in Los Angeles to prepare for next week’s BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, California, world No. 2 Roger Federer had a chance to catch up with good friend and former world No. 1 Pete Sampras during a two hour hitting session on Friday.
After slugging it out under the warm California sun, the two legends suited up before heading to the Staples Center to catch the L.A. Lakers vs. the Charlotte Bobcats’ game.
Prior to the game’s tip off, Federer and Sampras had a chance to meet Kobe Bryant, as well as Pau Gasol and Phil Jackson.
Federer will be aiming for his fourth title in Palm Springs next week, while Sampras will head to Zurich, Switzerland to take part in a Champions Tour event.
